Important Information to know before you buy! August 15, 2010 Joseph M. Zompa (Brookfield, WI United States) I bought this unit for my kitchen. I had a flat panel but viewing angles made the CRT type TV a better choice. I have a satellite signal. Over all for the price this is a good TV and I am satisfied. There are some issues: 1 - sound quality and volume is a bit disappointing. I plan to add a set of wireless speakers for better volume control and quality. 2 - programming a universal remote is a challenge....most all published codes for this TV do not work! I found an Hitachi code #100056 worked on my Direct TV remote. You may need to plan for a manual code search which is time consuming. 3 - TV had a small dent in the face panel......I chose to ignore it but was surprised given how well it was packed.
Television for bedroom February 22, 2010 M. Urdanick (endicott NY) I was skeptical of purchasing a Television from an Internet source for fear of the obvious reasons, but after reading the prior reviews for this product I decided to chance it, and it was a great choice! This TV I found to be perfect for a bedroom; picture is fine, color is fine, all controls are quite typical, but most importantly for me, is that I can actually hear this television. Prior to my purchasing this Haier HTR20 I had a LG LCD, which for some reason that evades me, had its speakers facing downwards and backwards. Unless one was sitting in back of the television the fool thing could not be heard. I actually gave the LG LCD away to someone, that is how much I disliked it! This Haier's sound on a scale of 1 to 10 w/ 10 the best, an easy 9.
Anyway, if you are shopping for a good quality mid size television this Haier might be worth your looking at!
I have had my HTR20 for about six weeks now, so I have been living with it for a bit already. I would buy this item again!
Good TV, reasonable price February 11, 2010 Jeffrey C. Kleiman (Peoria, AZ United States) I needed a 20" CRT screen that accepted multiple inputs at a reasonable price. I was concerned about this unknown name brand, but it was very hard to find this type of TV anymore. It works perfectly, with a very acceptible picture and no problems to this point.
TV February 6, 2010 F. Hayes This item made a nice gift and it works fine. Once, you adjust all of the channels. You can connect to cable and antenna for more channels as a alternative thanks great gift.
Fast delivery, great picture January 21, 2010 Brian Flesher Pros: Great Picture, sound and most of the menu selections were simple.
Con: Instructions incomplete and took experiments to figure out how to adjust picture size.
